1. The number within the ( ) indicates the NQF-level of the course; for example, (5) indicates first and second year modules and (6) a third year module. The number within the [ ] indicates the credit value of the course in multiples of 8, one credit equals 10 study hours over a semester; for example, [16] indicates 160 hours of study.

2. At John Wycliffe Theological College a total of 456 credits is required to complete the BTh course. (15 x [8] and 21 x [16] credit courses) We also offer 32 extra credits (2 x [16] credit courses) as options. At the North-West University with whom we are affiliated a minimum of 384 credits are required to complete the BTh degree over 3 years. As we view all the modules of our curriculum as essential a student will require 4 years of full-time study to complete the course.
